The book contains over 270 color pictures of wildflowers common to Henry W. Coe State Park. Many of these flowers are also common in other inland areas around the San Francisco Bay. The book includes thumbnail photos to help easily identify different species, and descriptive as well as interesting information about the plants.

The author of the book is Barry Breckling, long-time (now retired), much admired ranger at Coe Park.
