Coe Connections is an all-year program that provides students with quality environmental education. Through our volunteer and staff-led interpretive programs, your students will explore how plants, animals, and even rocks interconnect. Each program is designed to cover appropriate 3rd-7th grade curriculum standards. By teaching about interdependence, conservation, and stewardship, Coe Connections is sure to create a memorable educational experience for your students.

Programs are 3-4 Hours Long and Include:

  • A slide show (as appropriate)
  • A volunteer-led walk, with hands-on, grade appropriate activities, games, and stream studies
  • Challenges, discussions and critical thinking exercises

  • Interdependence
  • Plant Identification
  • Adaptations
  • Stream Studies
  • Conservation
  • Weather
  • and More!

Program Locations:

Programs can be held at either Henry W. Coe State Park Headquarters or at the Hunting Hollow Entrance. Classroom visits are also available!

The program at Henry W. Coe State Park Headquarters (13 Miles East of Morgan Hill on East Dunne Avenue), features beautiful views, diverse eco-systems and a visitor center with museum.

The program at the Hunting Hollow Entrance: (12 Miles East of Gilroy on Gilroy Hot Springs Road), features wildflower meadows and stream studies.

Fee:

The fee for Coe Connections is $60 for up to 40 students. Payment is due on the day of the program. Students bring their own lunches.

Programs must be reserved at least three weeks in advance. Programs can be arranged Monday-Fridays during the school year or on Saturday or Sunday by special arrangement.
